On this journey, we will be together in an ashram setting practicing yoga, meditating, eating delicious, organic indian food, listening to wisdom talks from living masters and hiking through the magical hills around Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of yoga.
WEEK TWO: RECOVERY 2.0 AT THE SATTVA SUMMIT
The Sattva Summit is an intimate yet expansive boutique conscious gathering, featuring some of the world’s most profound yoga teachers, thought leaders, musicians and artists. The Summit offers a unique opportunity for Yogis from across the globe to gather as a community for a week of deep healing, expansion and joy. Tommy and Kia will join an illustrious faculty including Anand Mehrotra, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, and Sadhvi Bhagawati for this week of deeper learning and intentional community.

You will need a valid Passport and, depending on your country of origin, a Visa to travel to India. The Government of India website is the recommended site for obtaining your Visa if in the USA. https://indianvisaonline.gov.
Triple check expiration dates on all travel documents. Bring a photocopy of all travel documents to carry in a separate location from your original documents.

No vaccines are required for India, however Tetanus, Hep A and Typhoid are recommended. Kia and Tommy have never done vaccinations, but you must do your own research and see how you feel.

Tommy Rosen is a yoga teacher and addiction recovery expert who has spent the last two decades immersed in yoga, recovery and wellness. He holds advanced certifications in both Hatha and Kundalini Yoga and has 25 years of recovery from acute drug addiction.
Tommy is the founder of Recovery 2.0, the host of the Recovery 2.0 Online Conference Series and author of the book, Recovery 2.0: Move Beyond Addiction and Upgrade Your Life (Hay House 2014). He presents workshops annually at Esalen, Kripalu and Blue Spirit and teaches regularly at yoga conferences and festivals, including Wanderlust, Hanuman and The International Festival of Yoga in Rishikesh, India. Tommy and his wife, yoga instructor Kia Miller, live in Venice, California, where they teach yoga and grow a lot of organic vegetables in their backyard.
Kia’s study of yoga began when she was 15. She has advanced to become one of the most well known Yoga teachers in the West. Kia is certified in both Hatha and Kundalini yoga and has an ability to translate this powerful combination of teachings in a highly accessible way.
She teaches workshops, retreats and teacher trainings throughout the world, including her signature, Radiant Body Yoga Teacher Training. Kia’s passion is to share the Kundalini tradition infused with Vinyasa and the devotional practice of Bhakti Yoga. Kia’s classes are a powerful mix of asana, breath, meditation and chanting that will leave you uplifted and empowered.
Q. What does it mean to be in recovery?
A: This journey to India is intended for people who identify as being in recovery from addictive substances or behaviors with at least 1 year of continuous sobriety. All participants commit to avoiding the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other addictive substances during the program.
Q: Can I smoke cigarettes and/or vape on this retreat.
A: No. There is no nicotine in any form allowed on this trip. On this journey, there’s no need for nicotine.
Q: Is yoga experience necessary?
A: Yes, you will want to have at least begun a practice of yoga. However, the yoga we teach, while challenging to each individual according to their level, will be accessible to all levels of yoga practitioner.
Q: Can I bring a partner or friend?
A: Absolutely! If you have a partner or friend who is also in recovery or who has supported you in your recovery, please ask them to apply and include your name in their application. Sharing this transformational week with someone close to you is such a gift.
Q: What is included in the price?
A: Your accomodations at The Sattva Retreat Center in Rishikesh, all of your meals (delicious organic Vegetarian Indian food), all lectures, yoga, Satsangs (spiritual Q&A) group activities and excursions are included.
Q: What is not included in this price?
A: Your transportation to and from Sattva Retreat Center (air and ground), additional snacks, shopping purchases and incidentals. We do like to venture into town as a group. You may choose to find a meal with tax and tip for less than $10 US.
Q: What is the weather like?
A: Rishikesh is a little cool in the early mornings and very warm throughout the day.
Q: What about travel and vaccines?
A: You will need a valid passport and VISA (US Residents) to travel to India. No vaccines are required for India, however Tetanus, Hep A and Typhoid are recommended.
Q: Where do I fly into? What is the best way to get to Rishikesh?
A: Fly into New Delhi. Then catch a connecting flight to Dehradun. Then Shuttle to Sattva Retreat in Rishikesh.
There are other options for those who are coming earlier to India or traveling from within India to other destinations.
